What is the normal size of ascending aorta?

This is a trick question of sorts Pam because The "normal size of the aorta" depends on body size, age, and gender. an aneurysm is defined and a "bulge" which is 1.3 times the general size of the aorta... ( the ascending and arch into the Descending Thoracic which is where the aorta begins to Narrow.. into the descending abdominal aorta... approx 3 cm seems to be an "average number" used and if your around 3 cm in the upper then you should be around 2cm in the abdominal region... it also can get confusing because much of the info states an Aneurysm of 3cm which means a bulge that is 3 cm more then Normal so it may be 6 cm or 5 cm.... In the past information has been sketchy and confusing there are now 3 or 4 World cl websites that provide all sorts of answers... I would suggest searching on Google
