Does having a mental meltdown on certain issues grant the right any special privileges in the coming elections?

I don't think it makes a whole lot of sense. Just more nationalistic jingoism from the right wing. Nothing they have tried has worked, so they are just throwing anything and everything at the wall to see if it sticks.
