The poet's conundrum, thoughts on such a predicament? Comments on such a musing? Pen or pencil, like paper...?

This is fantastic. Every artist has their influences. I dialogue with mine too. I write philosophy and I've often thought of philosophers I admire. I love how you wove these bits of dialogue together in such a way that shows a certain progression - a path that might not bear fruit in the linear way that we ideally want, but something is learned nevertheless along the path.
