I was driving and my car stalled randomly and wont start?

i was just cruising down the road, and the car just shut off, nothing seemed wrong, no bumpy feelings or anything it just felt like i was driving until i noticed the car didn't have power steering/brakes. i thought it was the battery cables but it wasn't, and when i try to start it all it does is i hear the starter click i tried jumping it and it didn't work. i got it to turn over and start once, but it immediately stalled out and i noticed the starter sparks and smokes so i thought it was the starter, but how would it make my car stall if it was the starter? please help, i have a 1993 honda prelude si 4ws
