Robertson's Jam[s] were never forbidden to use their Golliwog Trademark - they simply ceased using it in face of public pressure. It has nothing to do with PC. The removal of the trademark came as a result of changing public attitudes. The Golliwog was seen as offencive to black by a lot of white folk. However, a friend of mine from Trinidad, still has his original golliwog from the 1940s when he was a boy. He thinks it's the best childhood toy he ever had. It sits in pride of pace on his mantelpiece.
