Borders vs Barnes & Nobles?

Can someone, ANYONE, explain to me why Borders continues to flail, especially in the stock market and Barnes and Nobles continues to do so well, especially when the general populace seems to genuinely prefer the environment & shopping experience Borders provides? As an employee of Borders it is really quite beyond my comprehension and I'm hoping someone with reliable financial intellect will be able to explain it to me. Thanks!
